Social Practice and Public Art
In this class, I’ll share my method of social practice and how I use it to approach to create public art, drawing from projects like Stop Telling Women to Smile and America is Black. Participants will learn how to engage with communities and use public space as a platform for amplifying voices. You'll have the opportunity to share your own work and apply these strategies to develop or refine a potential or existing project.

Drawing Together: Skills for a Powerful Portrait
In this class, I’ll share my approach to creating portraits that serve as the foundation for my public art and large-scale installations. You’ll gain insight into how I choose my subjects and translate their essence into drawing.

Participants should bring their own drawing materials and, ideally, arrive with a portrait sketch already underway. We’ll focus on key techniques, such as shading and line work, while exploring the creative decisions that bring a portrait to life.

This is a relaxed, supportive environment where you can work at your own pace while receiving guidance, demonstrations, and answers to your questions. Intermediate-level drawing skills are recommended for this session.
